Who We Are

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), rooted in the Reformed tradition and shaped by a deep trust in the sovereignty, mercy, and transforming love of God. Our worship is traditional, reverent, and Christ-centered—not performative, but grounded in Scripture, sacrament, and the shared life of the church.

Our mission is to follow Jesus Christ in ways that are tangible and compassionate: feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, teaching our children, comforting the hurting, and sharing the Good News with the world. We believe the gospel is not merely comforting—it is revolutionary, calling us to love boldly, serve generously, and live with hope.

As a congregation established in 1675, we honor our history while embracing the future God is preparing for us. Our ministries in Youth, Worship, and Outreach reflect our desire to grow in faith and serve our community with humility and joy.

Our Story

Founded in 1675, the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge is one of the oldest congregations in New Jersey. From a simple frame meeting house to the sanctuary we worship in today, our church has stood as a witness to God’s faithfulness across generations. Our cemetery, grounds, and historic buildings reflect a heritage we are committed to preserving and sharing with our community.

We invite you to explore our full history, including our role in early American life and our ongoing commitment to honoring the past while serving the present.
